Mission & Vision Mission The mission of our department is to contribute to the development and protection of Turkish language, literature and culture through educational and scientific activities. Vision The vision of our department is to teach Turkish Language and Literature at the best level according to the needs of Turkey. The aim of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature is to raise highly qualified individuals and researchers who can generate solutions in the frame of basic aims of Turkish Higher Education, structure and development of Turkish Language; terms, characters, studies and features of Turkish Literature, knowing about Turkish Culture; is conscious of national culture and at peace with universal culture; having creative thinking; gained working method and discipline; Beside this, to contribute to research language and cultural features of Muğla district. To research and create scientific publishing, organize scientific sessions, encourage participation of lecturers and students to the scientific meetings which are organized by our university or other organizations. We would like to expand the knowledge exchange between the other universities’ similar departments abroad through exchange programs of lecturers and students. In this context, we have already signed agreement with Uppsala University of Sweden, Faculty of Philology, and Turcology Department in the scope of Erasmus Mobility Programme. We send our students to exchange knowledge and acquire practice in Turcology Departments in EU countries as a member of Erasmus. At the same time, there are staff and students exchanges among Turkish universities through Farabi Exchange Programme.
